We are happy to announce that the paper “Blood Glucose Prediction for Type 1 Diabetics using Deep Reinforcement Learning” of project P3 (Peter Domanski, Dirk Pflüger) presented at the 2023 IEEE ICDH won the 1st Prize of the NSF Student Research Competition Award. Over 90 papers were submitted from which 10 were selected to provide a short video and an in-person presentation. The three prizes include additional research grants and travel funding sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Together with our collaborators Aritra Ray, Farshad Firouzi , Kyle Lafata, and Krishnendu Chakrabarty we are celebrating the great work and looking forward to continue the work on improving diabetes treatments using Deep Reinforcement Learning.
