PhD defense

December 16, 2022

Natalia Lylina (PA3) is the first doctoral student of the GS-IMTR to successfully master her defense (with "summa cum laude").

Some personal words by Natalia:

"On December 16th, my Ph.D. journey ended! I am happy and proud to announce that I have obtained a “summa cum laude” Ph.D. (with distinction). This achievement would never be possible without the help of my family, especially my husband and my parents, my friends, and my colleagues.

I would also like to thank all the exam committee members! It applies to Prof. Hans-Joachim Wunderlich, Prof. Matteo Sonza Reorda, Prof. Thomas Ertl, and Prof. Dirk Pflüger! All the committee members are or have been affiliated with the Graduate School "Intelligent Methods for Test and Reliability". I also belong to this Graduate School as an associate member, and it has been a unique opportunity and an enjoyable experience for me. The lively discussion after the public part allowed me to think once again about the impact of my doctoral work, its benefits, and future research ideas. All the questions at the Ph.D. defense are highly relevant to my research topic. An interdisciplinary approach within the Graduate School enhanced the research discussion and helped me explore different aspects of using Dependable Reconfigurable Scan Networks throughout the system lifetime for various test insertions.

My special and warmest thanks go to my dear supervisor Prof. Hans-Joachim Wunderlich! Thank you for believing in me and helping me a lot throughout this journey! I would also like to thank Prof. Matteo Sonza Reorda for taking over the role of my secondary advisor! I am really happy and grateful for the great opportunity to work with those two pioneers and visioners of semiconductor test!

I thank all of you once again for being here with me during the defense and throughout my life!"
