IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence, July 2022

July 18, 2022

From July 18th until July 23th 2022, the doctoral student Yiwen Liao of GS-IMTR attended IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI) in Padova, Italy.

From July 18th until July 23th 2022, the doctoral student Yiwen Liao of GS-IMTR attended IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI) in Padova, Italy. The congress was composed of three conferences: the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, the IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, and the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation.

In the congress, Yiwen Liao presented his work “To Generalize or Not to Generalize: Towards Autoencoders in One-Class Classification” in an oral session with a fruitful discussion in Q&A. Furthermore, he also attended oral and poster sessions on Hyperdimensional Computing, Privacy-Preserving Computation, Streaming Data Analytics and so on. By attending these sessions, he has established some initial connections with PhD students and professors from other universities. The connections are also valuable for other projects such as P4, P10 and AP4 in our GS-IMTR.

Invited plenary talk by Paul Werbos who is known for the original discovery of backpropagation and analysis in using backpropagation in neural nets.
